This distance-learning CLE is presented by North Penn Legal Services.

Specifically tailored to new attorneys or seasoned practitioners who have little to no experience in family law, this presentation will provide a solid framework for evaluating custody cases. Topics covered will include an overview of types of filing and procedures, remedies, jurisdiction, third party standing, and other special issues. Focus will be given to advising pro se litigants, issue spotting, assessing the merits of a case, and factors to consider when determining the scope of services to be provided.

PRESENTER BIO

Dyan Dinstel, Esq.
Staff Attorney, North Penn Legal Services

Dyan Dinstel came to North Penn Legal Services in October 2019 after working for the Domestic Violence Service Center’s Civil Legal Representation Project, where she served as Supervising Attorney. She handles primarily custody and domestic violence matters. Prior to her leap into public service, she spent seven years as Associate Counsel for Northeast Revenue Service, LLC., where she litigated tax sales and oversaw legal compliance in five counties.

Dyan received her J.D. from St. John’s School of Law in 2009 and her B.A. from Temple University in 2004.
